LITTLE DRUMMER BOY...Max Weinberg

Слика
In the spring of 1974, Max Weinberg saw a notice in the  Village Voice  that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band were looking for a new drummer, cautioning would-be applicants that they didn't want any "Junior Ginger Bakers." Weinberg was a steady-handed pro schooled in the pits of Broadway shows: in other words, the complete opposite of Cream's wild-man drummer. He blew Springsteen away at an audition and was hired just as work began on  Born to Run . It's impossible to imagine how that album would have sounded without Weinberg's taut pulse — closer in spirit to the Sixties studio kings than the Seventies arena giants — and after its success, the drummer found himself working with everyone from Meat Loaf to Bonnie Tyler. When the E Street Band split in 1989, he found work as Conan O'Brien's bandleader, though when the band reformed in 1999, he managed to fit both jobs into his busy schedule. BASS CULTURE...Peter Cetera

Слика
It’s easy to forget that before he was a household name as a chart-topping balladeer, Peter Cetera wielded a 4-string in a powerhouse rhythm section alongside drummer Danny Seraphine, guitarist Terry Kath and keyboardist Robert Lamm. Chicago brought a new level of fusion-inspired creativity to the pop scene, seamlessly blending odd time signatures and dense horn arrangements with sophisticated ear candy songwriting, all glued together with Cetera’s monstrous, melodic, McCartney-inspired bass lines percolating underneath. He lays down the driving, greasy funk on “Woman Don’t Want To Love Me” ( Chicago VII,  1974), but also grabs some sweet upper-register melodic fills in the turnarounds. And “Something In This City Changes People” ( Chicago VI,  1973 )  is a masterclass in both compositional countermelody and solid support. As iconic as this band is, Peter Cetera is a true unsung bass hero.  CHICAGO Chicago VII Columbia,1974 1 -  https://www.sendspace.com/file/w4z6h3 2 -  https:

GUITAR WOLF...Neil Young

Because his wheedling vocals make him never your first choice for a singer, it’s really Young’s guitar playing and arrangements that define his career. He cycles through sounds and players with ease, almost at will—an oldies mainstay with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby Stills Nash & Young, a fan of the squeals of psychedelia, metal and grunge with Crazy Horse, and owning his versatile solo output without apology. This is a man whose individualist principles led him to fuck with the Geffen and Reprise labels through the 1980s, releasing an album focusing on synths instead of guitars (Trans) and then delving into rockabilly ( Everybody’s Rockin’ ), country ( Old Ways ), and blues ( This Note’s for You ), before the rejuvenating diptych of  Freedom  in 1989 and  Ragged Glory  in 1990. It’s a microcosm of almost 50 years littered with milestones ranging from “Cinnamon Girl” to “Rockin’ in the Free World” to “Who’s Gonna Stand Up?” NEIL YOUNG + CRAZY HORSE Ragged Glory Reprise,1

DON'T SHOOT ME...John Evan

Evan was convinced by Jethro Tull leader Ian Anderson to quit school and become a full-time member of the band. He was a memeber of Tull for 10 years 1970-1980      A real entertainer, he was known for wearing a white suit, a yellow shirt, and doing pantomimes and facial gesticulations during concert performances  After his career in music, John ran his own construction company, and would sometimes be recognized by hard core Tull fans.
