DON'T SHOOT ME...Derek Sherinian

Слика
He’d already worked with Buddy Miles, Alice Cooper and Kiss before he replaced Kevin Moore in Dream Theater, with whom he spent five years. He’s since worked with the likes of Billy Idol, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Lukather and Allan Holdsworth, as well as forming Black Country Communion with Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes and Jason Bonham. He also recently reunited with his old Dream Theater pal Mike Portnoy for the prog supergroup Sons Of Apollo.       In terms of aggressive, in-your-face rock keyboardists, it is hard to find a stronger player who is more fun to watch live. He’s played with everyone and with good reason, but I like his solo stuff the best personally. It’s so over-the-top it makes me giggle.  DREAM THEATRE   Falling Into Infinity   East/West,1997 https://www.sendspace.com/file/84yflo

LITTLE DRUMMER BOY...Ringo Starr

There's something inherently humorous in making the now fashionable claim that Ringo Starr was some goofball that wandered  into the good fortune of having his percussive ineptitudes obscured by three of the greatest songwriters the world has ever known, which must account for its popularity considering neither close scrutiny nor expert testimony bear this layman's claim out.As the Legeend goes, when asked if Starr was the best drummer in the world,Lennon replied:''He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles!''.The fact of the matter is that Lennon stuck with Ringo for his first solo outing saying:''If i get a thing going Ringo knows where to go,just like that''.Ringo, while not flashy,or given to drum solos (thank God) was adept at pretty much any style the Beatles cared to play, and even some they made up during the experimental years. For 'Rubber Soul' Ringo detuned the drums and muffled the tonal rings, and was also instrumen

BASS CULTURE...John Paul Jones

So you have one of music's hardest-hitting drummers behind you, what's a bass player to do?This is answered most clearly on Led Zeppelin songs like 'When The Levee Breaks' and 'Achilles' Last Stand',lay down a groove amid your band's ever-shifting stylistic landscape. On Houses Of The Holy  alone Jones was able to lay it on thick as the band moved from funk to reggae to progressive rock.Any rock bass player who doesn't claim John Paul Jones as an influence probably plays pop-punk or wants to be Andy Rourke (the Smiths). GUITAR WOLF...Carlos Santana

Although 'Smooth' brought Carlos Santana tremendous success,if's an underwhelming reference point.Past albums prove Santana has much more to offer. The amazing 'Soul Sacriface' helped establish his signature guitar style. His cover of Puente's 'Oye Como Va' proved guitar parts were critical to rock songs.'Jungle Strut' showed his band had amazing tenacity to jam effortlessly.Above all, this is evidence his playing harmonizes perfectly with marvelous percussion, rhythmic bass and vocalist Gregg Rolie's signature Hammond organ.    SANTANA     Greatest Hits     CBS,1974 https://www.sendspace.com/file/9w8sq2
