LITTLE DRUMMER BOY...Matt Cameron

Слика
More than any other drummer, Matt Cameron laid the rhythmic foundation for the Nineties rock revolution, reconciling proggy technicality with overwhelming force. He aptly characterized his rotary-blade rhythms on the 1991 Soundgarden track "Jesus Christ Pose" as "a pure assault of the senses," but that efficient brutality wasn't necessarily characteristic of Cameron's work with the band – his drumming on  Superunknown  is as thoughtful as it is heavy, from the fluid asymmetry of "Spoonman" to the unshakeable backbeat of "Fell on Black Days." Twenty years after its release, Dave Grohl was  still raving , "Nobody played drums like Matt." When Soundgarden suddenly disbanded in 1997, Cameron wasn't out of work for long: Pearl Jam invited him on tour the following year.  SOUNDGARDEN  Badmotorfinger A&M,1991 https://www.sendspace.com/file/uaniyr

BASS CULTURE...Mike Rutherford

Слика
Apart from being a masterful bassist, Rutherford is also a strong pop songwriter, the author of several hits: Land of Confusion, Follow You Follow Me (with Genesis) The Living Years and All I Need Is A Miracle (Mike + The Mechanics). Also a deft guitarist, Rutherford’s writing favors fluid, melodic phrases and pumping anthemic chord progressions.       For rock and pop music Rutherford usually sticks to a Rickenbacker bass. He tends to explore the upper registers, weaving complex melodic lines that compliment what his band mates are doing instead of drawing attention to himself. He can also lay down classic powerhouse rock bass lines (Why Me? Mike + the Mechanics; Turn It On Again, Genesis). He has been known to make discreet use of a fretless bass on occasion. After the Rick, his go-to bass is a custom Shergold. During the 80’s his ax of choice was an M-series Steinberger, which he contributed design ideas for. As a guitarist, Rutherford roams further afield, playing steel and

GUITAR WOLF...Willie Nelson

Слика
Like his conversational singing,  Willie Nelson 's guitar playing is deceptively laidback, playfully offbeat and instantly recognizable. Amazingly, Nelson has been playing the same Martin M-20 classical guitar, nicknamed Trigger, since 1969; it has defined his sound, a nylon-stabbing mix of country, blues and Django Reinhardt's gypsy jazz. Though the guitar now has a large gaping hole, Nelson still plays it nightly. "I have come to believe we were fated for each other," he said. "The two of us even look alike. We are both pretty battered and bruised."       Shotgun Willie       Atlantic,1973       https://www.sendspace.com/file/a5cb24

DON'T SHOOT ME...John Tout

Слика
John Tout  was a British pianist   , keyboardist  and composer  , best known for his work with the progressive rock band Renaissance .  Before his Renaissance days, Tout played with Rupert's People  .       Although Tout has always remained somewhat in the background within Renaissance, his influence is very clearly noticeable.  Many Renaissance songs begin with Tout's piano playing, influenced by French and Russian composers in particular.  As a composer, he contributed a few songs (  Fanfare  and  Fugue for the Sultan  ), and was involved in many other compositions.
