BASS CULTURE...Skip Battin
By the time Skip Battin joined the Byrds in the late 1960s, the group had already undergone the transition from a singles-orientated pop group to album-based country-rock pioneers. With Battin in the line-up, they changed direction again to become a rock’n’roll band in which Battin played bass and contributed sometimes quirky songs. When the band dissolved, Battin went on to join country-rockers the New Riders of the Purple Sage and the Flying Burrito Brothers.
