     Famous for drumming in Motorhead, Mikkey Dee is up there as one of the best rock drummers of all time. Rising to prominence with Motorhead in 1992, Dee took over from the previous drummer Phil Taylor, forcing his career to succeed.
     Dee has lent his exceptional drumming talents to other notable bands such as King Diamond, Helloween, and Don Dokken.
     Mikkey Dee’s remarkable drumming skills, diverse musical collaborations, and electrifying stage presence have placed him among the elite ranks of rock drummers. He truly is an iconic figure.

  MICK FLEETWOOD'S ZOO  I'm Not Me  (RCA,1983) - Rock        The story behind Mick Fleetwood’s 1983  I’m Not Me  is well known. It was his second “solo” album for RCA Records, but everyone, especially Fleetwood, knew it was a band effort. Fleetwood’s name was the draw, but The Zoo was a fully formed ensemble that had been playing together for a year. This occurred because Fleetwood wanted a real group and not an album put out by studio musicians who’d come by, do their parts, and ride off to other projects.        The principal members of the Zoo were Fleetwood on drums, guitarist/singers Billy Burnette and Steve Ross, and bassist/singer George Hawkins. (Hawkins had appeared on Fleetwood’s previous release,  The Visitor ). As Burnette, Hawkins, and Ross shared lead vocal duties and co-wrote many of the songs, the band’s structure was easily compared to that of Fleetwood Mac. The only release by the Batteau brother duo is a perfect mix of balearic blue eyed soul and west coast country rock. Admirers old and new have been constantly pondering, why wasn’t this better known?
