     Dinner At The Ritz is a huge step up from the debut album, released that same year. Not only are there no weak/weaker songs but the album can actually be seen as a minor conceptual masterpiece. I was really not a fan of the funk and reggae explorations on the debut so the absence of these styles is a complete bliss to my ears. The overall sound of the record makes me think of Supertramp around the Even in the Quietest Moments...-era, released a year after Dinner At The Ritz. The record is smooth, subtile and featuring that magical sound that can only be found on a '70s studio album.

  MELISSA MANCHESTER Don't Cry Out Loud  (Arista,1978) - Pop      Most of the album’s tracks were recorded with Leon Ware producing; Ware had expressed an interest in recording Manchester based on the singer’s version of the Ware composition “I Wanna Be Where You Are” featured on the 1977 album release  Singin’… . The tracks Manchester recorded with Ware intended as the singer’s 1978 album release – which Manchester planned to name  Caravan  – were all original material except “Bad Weather”, a Stevie Wonder composition which had been a single for the Supremes in 1974.         Jason Eli Becker  is an American composer and former guitarist. At the age of 16, he became part of the  Shrapnel Records -produced duo  Cacophony  with his friend  Marty Friedman , and they released two albums,  1987 and  1988. Since the dissolution of Cacophony in 1989, Becker has undertaken a solo career, releasing seven albums since his 1988 debut  Perpetual Burn .
