LITTLE DRUMMER BOY.....Roger Taylor

 


     Drummer of the champions, Roger Taylor holds an esteemed place in the music world. As the drummer and backing vocalist for the iconic rock band Queen, Taylor achieved international fame with his remarkable talent and unique sound.
     Taylor’s contributions to Queen extend far beyond his drumming. He played a significant role as a songwriter and singer, composing at least one track on every Queen album.
     Some of the things that Taylor is most renowned for are his ability to tune his drums to a distinct sound and his skills as a vocalist, including his impressive falsetto range.
     Taylor has also collaborated with numerous artists and enjoyed a successful solo career, releasing six albums. His versatility as a musician and his ability to seamlessly transition between genres have solidified his reputation as a musical force.

        More than any other drummer, Matt Cameron laid the rhythmic foundation for the Nineties rock revolution, reconciling proggy technicality with overwhelming force. He aptly characterized his rotary-blade rhythms on the 1991 Soundgarden track "Jesus Christ Pose" as "a pure assault of the senses," but that efficient brutality wasn't necessarily characteristic of Cameron's work with the band – his drumming on  Superunknown  is as thoughtful as it is heavy, from the fluid asymmetry of "Spoonman" to the unshakeable backbeat of "Fell on Black Days." Twenty years after its release, Dave Grohl was  still raving , "Nobody played drums like Matt."   GRAVY TRAIN  Gravy Train  (Vertigo,1970) - Progressive rock       Their debut shows Gravy Train as a brave and daring underground band, heavily influenced by and derivative of other prog/hard acts of the time, yet actually trying to push the boundaries forward. Unfortunately, since the album bombed, the guys preferred to dump all the experimentation of these songs in favour of a smoother, more commercial sound later on, which totally destroyed their idiosyncrasy and forever nailed them as second-rate good-for-nothings.
